CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Police have registered an unnatural death case following the death of a 31-year-old man, whose body was brought to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao.
According to the police, on December 18, 2025, information was received from the casualty police of South Goa District Hospital, Margao, that a person had been brought dead. During the subsequent enquiry at the hospital, the deceased was identified as Anand Lamani (31), a resident of Panzorconi, Cuncolim, originally from Gadag district, Karnataka.
Further enquiry with the family members revealed that the deceased had allegedly committed suicide by hanging using a nylon rope as ligature material. Police thereafter conducted a scene of occurrence panchanama and referred the body for post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem was conducted by the police surgeon, who certified the cause of death as “asphyxia as a result of constriction of neck structures.” However, reports of chemical analysis of the visceral organs are awaited.
After completion of formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for final religious rites. Further enquiry in the case is being conducted by PSI Sahil Pagui of Cuncolim Police Station.
