MALA: A 55-year-old man was found dead by suicide at the emergency exit staircase of Jairam Complex in Panaji on Wednesday morning.
Police said they received a call from the Panaji Police Control Room at around 10:04 am about the incident. PSI Manjunath Naik visited the site and identified the deceased as Vasudev Tulsidas Volvoikar, a resident of Ramnagar, Betim, Bardez.
During the scene of occurrence panchanama, two suicide notes were reportedly recovered from the pockets of the deceased. The body was later lowered with the help of firefighters and shifted to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, for further procedures.
Panaji Police have registered an Unnatural Death case (UD No. 77/2025) under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). PSI Nitin Naik is the investigating officer.
