PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered a case of unnatural death after a 39-year-old man was found hanging inside a lodge room in Panaji.
According to police, the incident was reported on 16/02/2026 at around 20:11 hrs after information was received from Michel Demello stating that a male person was found hanging from a ceiling fan at Hotel Elite Lodge, located at Cortin near Joseph Bar, Panaji.
Police immediately rushed to the spot. The informant led the police to Room No. 110, which was found locked from inside. The door was forcibly opened, and upon entering the room, a male person was found hanging from the ceiling fan.
During enquiry, the deceased was identified as Eldo Abraham (39), son of Abraham, a resident of Vettatharayil House, Arattuthara P.O., Mananthavady, Wayanad, Kerala.
Police secured the presence of two panch witnesses and conducted a detailed inquest and scene of Unnatural Death (UD) occurrence panchanama. No foul play is suspected at this stage.
The body has been preserved at the Goa Medical College morgue in Bambolim for further medico-legal formalities.
