CHICALIM: A 39-year-old man was found dead in his room located behind the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Chicalim, on Wednesday morning. Police received information at around 8.36 am from 108 Vasco Ambulance staff stating that a male person was lying unconscious in his room.
Police rushed to the spot and found the man lying in an unconscious state. Upon examination, the 108 ambulance medical staff declared him dead. The deceased has been identified as Chhavindra Gurung (39), a resident of behind SDH, Chicalim.
Police conducted a scene of UD occurrence panchanama and an inquest panchanama over the dead body. The body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Enquiries with locals, roommates and family members revealed that the deceased had suffered an injury to his right leg for the past one year, which was reportedly bleeding.
Further enquiry in the matter is being carried out by PSI Mayur K. Sawant of Vasco Police Station.
