VALPOI: A 59-year-old man was found dead near Padeli Bridge in Sattari on Friday afternoon, police said.
According to police, information was received at around 1:34 pm from PCR Panaji about a person lying unresponsive near the bridge. PSI Prathamesh Gawas, along with staff, rushed to the spot at Padeli, where a male body was found on the shore.
During inquiry, the deceased was identified as Abdul, son of Hasan Shah, a resident of Ward No. 09, Valpoi, Sattari. Locals had reportedly attempted to administer CPR, but there was no response. The body was then shifted to CHC Valpoi, where the on-duty medical officer declared him brought dead.
Police conducted an inquest in the presence of panch witnesses, and the body has been sent to GMC Morgue, Bambolim, for preservation.
