Anjuna: Anjuna Police have registered an unnatural death case after a man was found lying motionless near the helipad parking area in Vagator on Friday morning.
According to police, at around 10:40 am on March 13, 2026, a phone call was received from Jerry Braganza, a resident of Chapora, informing that an unknown male person was found lying near the Vagator Helipad.
Police immediately visited the helipad parking area in Vagator, where they found a man lying motionless. On verification, the person was declared dead at the spot.
In this connection, Anjuna Police registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
During further enquiry with local residents, the deceased was identified as a beggar known by the name Bhawani, believed to be a native of Himachal Pradesh, aged approximately 35 to 40 years. However, his full name and exact address are yet to be established.
Police inquiries also revealed that the deceased was a chronic alcoholic and had been staying alone in the Vagator area.
The body has been preserved at the GMC morgue in Bambolim to complete medico-legal formalities and to trace the family members of the deceased.
Police said no foul play is suspected at this stage.
