MARGAO: A person identified as Sunaram Soren, son of Durga Soren, originally from Odisha and residing at Cortalim, South Goa, died while undergoing medical treatment at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao.
Police said they received a call from the hospital informing about the death. During inquiry, the deceased’s roommate, Bimal Hambram, told police that Sunaram was a chronic alcoholic and had been suffering from diarrhoea, for which he was admitted to SGDH. He passed away during the course of treatment.
The body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for inquest panchanama and medico-legal examination.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Pramila Fernandes of Verna Police Station.
