MAPUSA: Mapusa Police on Sunday registered a case (Crime No. 120/2025) under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, following a complaint of burglary lodged by a local shop owner.
According to police, the incident took place at around 9:23 a.m. at Vaman Sadan Building, Feira Baixa, Mapusa, Bardez, where an unknown person allegedly forced open the main entrance of a shop and escaped with items valued at approximately ₹60,000.
Following investigation, police identified and arrested the accused, Mahadev Papa Gosavi (25), a resident of Mapusa, originally from Hubballi, Karnataka, later the same day.
Officials said all Supreme Court guidelines pertaining to arrest were duly followed. The investigation is being led by PSI Dattaprasad Pandit.
