CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have registered an offence after a raid at a general store in Candolim uncovered the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes. The case was registered on December 9, 2025, at around 10:30 pm based on a state complaint filed by PSI Vighnesh V. Naik of Calangute Police Station.
According to police, the incident occurred between 6:49 pm and 8:35 pm at Palekar General Store, located at House No. 109, Dando, Candolim, Bardez.
During the operation, the accused — Shahrukh Khan, 25, son of Shami Khan and residing at Marquiss Waddo, Candolim, originally from Banda district in Uttar Pradesh — was allegedly found selling electronic cigarettes and related products, which are banned.
Electronic cigarettes and allied products worth approximately ₹15,000 were seized during the panchanama. Police said the items were attached as part of the investigation.
Calangute Police confirmed that further investigation is underway.
