COLVA: Colva Police arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of a sizeable quantity of suspected ganja during the early hours of Thursday. The offence was registered on the state complaint of LPSI Raksha Naik, who reported that between 11:20 pm on November 26 and 2:10 am on November 27, the accused, identified as James Lima, a resident of Odisha, was caught red-handed near the chapel at Botlem Ward, Seraulim.
Police stated that Lima was found carrying fruiting and flowering substance suspected to be ganja, weighing 438 grams and valued at approximately ₹43,800. He was taken into custody and the narcotic substance seized for further examination.
The investigation has been handed over to PSI Anil Krishna of Colva Police Station, who is conducting further inquiries into the case.
