CUNCOLIM: Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Assolna after he was allegedly caught in possession of ganja worth around ₹10,000 during a narcotics raid near Assolna Bridge on Monday night.
According to Cuncolim Police, the accused, Altaf, son of Malik Rehan Darwad, resident of Orel, Assolna, was found with 93 grams of green dry leafy substance suspected to be ganja during a raid conducted between 8.10 pm and 10.39 pm on September 15, acting on reliable information.
He was arrested on September 16 and produced before the court, which remanded him to two days of police custody.
The case has been registered under Crime No. 61/2025 for offences under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sudan Bhosle of Cuncolim Police Station.
