MORMUGAO: Police arrested a man from West Bengal for allegedly possessing a narcotic substance during a raid at Headland Sada on Saturday night.
According to Mormugao Police, the raid was conducted between 10:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. near Dinu Garage, Headland Sada, following specific and reliable information.
The accused, identified as Surajit Patra, a native of West Bengal, was allegedly caught red-handed in illegal possession of about 157 grams of greenish dry leaves, stems, and flowering parts of a plant suspected to be ganja, valued at approximately ₹15,700.
Police said the accused had come to the area to deliver the substance to his customers.
He was placed under arrest, and further investigation has been handed over to PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station.
