PONDA: Ponda Police arrested a man for illegal possession of suspected ganja during a late-night operation at Curti, Ponda.
As per police, the action was carried out on March 29 between 1.45 am and 2.45 am based on a state complaint filed by PSI Prajyot Bakhale of Ponda Police Station. The accused, identified as Shivanand Kumbhar, a resident of Bandora, Ponda, was caught red-handed while allegedly in possession of 114 grams of greenish dry flowery leafy substance suspected to be ganja.
Police said the seized contraband is valued at approximately Rs 11,400. A case has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sushant Gaonkar of Ponda Police Station.
