Canacona: Canacona police have registered an offence and arrested a man for illegal possession of narcotic drugs following a raid conducted in the town on January 23, 2026.
According to a press note issued by the police, the offence was registered based on a complaint filed on behalf of the State by PSI Babu D. Desai of Canacona Police Station. Acting on specific information, police conducted a raid at Chaar Raasta towards the Power House area, where the accused was caught red-handed.
The arrested person has been identified as Arun K. M. (28), son of Mohanan K.C., a resident of Vallissery, Thrissur district, Kerala. Police recovered 13.5 grams of MDMA, valued at approximately ₹1.35 lakh, from his possession.
Investigations revealed that the accused had allegedly brought the contraband substance for delivery to a prospective customer and was found in possession of the drug without any valid legal authorization.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Rajasekhar Reddy of Canacona Police Station.
