QUEPEM: Quepem Police arrested a man for alleged possession of suspected ganja during an early morning operation at Xeldem.
According to police, the action was carried out on March 24 between 2:39 am and 4:11 am based on a state complaint filed by PSI Digamber Bondre of Quepem Police Station. The accused, identified as Zakir Pirzade, a resident of Amona, Quepem, was found in illegal possession of 297 grams of greenish leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops, suspected to be ganja, valued at approximately Rs 30,000.
Police also seized cash amounting to Rs 20,000, one mobile phone and a Fascino scooter, with the total value of seized property estimated at around Rs 1.5 lakh.
An offence has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Digamber Bondre of Quepem Police Station.
