MARGAO: Margao Town Police arrested a man after he was caught red-handed in possession of suspected ganja during a late-night operation at Comba, Margao.
According to police, PSI Sameer Gaonkar lodged a state complaint stating that between 12.10 am and 2.48 am on January 14, 2026, the accused, Mohammed Ashraf Bikkannbai, a resident of Sukhubhat, Seraulim, was found in possession of dry greenish-coloured plant material, including stems with flowering and fruiting parts, suspected to be ganja. The seized contraband is valued at Rs 96,500.
The accused was arrested in connection with the case. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sanjay Velip of Margao Town Police Station.
