AGACAIM: In a swift and coordinated operation, Agacaïm Police apprehended a 40-year-old man within twelve hours of allegedly outraging the modesty of a group of female students at a bus stop in public view.
According to police, the accused, identified as Altaf Husen (40), a driver by profession and resident of Gudi, Paroda, Mulem, Salcete, was caught from Bambolim after a complaint was filed on August 5, 2025. The incident reportedly took place the same day, when the accused allegedly appeared in front of eight female students on his black TVS Jupiter scooter, pulled down his pants, and engaged in vulgar and obscene gestures before fleeing the scene.
Acting promptly on the complaint, PI Anant A. Gaonkar of Agacaïm Police Station formed a team comprising PSI Rushikesh Raikar and constables Raju Attar and Sanjay Varak. The team analysed CCTV footage and identified the scooter registration, which led them to the accused’s location.
The accused was detained in Bambolim and, during interrogation, confessed to the offence, police said.
Further investigation is underway under the supervision of PI Gaonkar and PSI Raikar, with overall guidance from SDPO Panaji Sudesh Naik and SP North Rahul Gupta, IPS
