Candolim: A dog bite incident at Candolim has led to the registration of a police case against a local resort resident for alleged negligence.
The complaint was filed by Eugene Madeira, a resident of Casa Madeira, Candolim, who sustained injuries after being bitten by a pet dog on Monday evening.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on July 28 at around 5:15 PM near Dom Francisco Complex, behind Delfino in Candolim. The accused, identified as Atulya Kumar Mallick, a resident of Alore Grande Holiday Resort, allegedly failed to control his dog and let it loose in the area. The dog reportedly ran towards Madeira and bit him on the calf and heel of both legs, causing injuries and posing a threat to his personal safety.
Based on the complaint, an offence was registered by the local police on July 29 at 8:52 PM under relevant sections for negligent conduct with respect to animals. The investigation is currently underway under the supervision of PSI Vighnesh Naik.
