OLD GOA: Old Goa Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving after a scooter rider sustained injuries in a collision involving a Swift car on Dhauji Road near Mangesh Saw Mill.
As per the complaint filed by Atish Ashok Shetkar, a resident of Amya Wada, Khandola, the incident occurred on June 4, 2025, at around 9:20 AM.
The accused, identified as Eknath Pandhari Neurekar, a resident of Ameywada, Marcel, was reportedly driving his Swift car (registration number GA-07-E-8402) in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Old Goa to Marcel.
According to police, the car veered into the path of an oncoming Honda Activa scooter (registration number GA-05-M-3276) and collided with it, causing the rider to fall and sustain bodily injuries.
The case was registered on July 7, 2025, at 11:34 AM under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Further investigation is being carried out by HC 7541 of Old Goa Police Station.
