CALANGUTE: Calangute police have registered an offence in connection with a stabbing incident reported near Baga Circle on March 1.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Sunil Rathod (23), originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing near the Electricity Department at Candolim.
In his complaint, Rathod stated that at around 12.30 pm, the accused, identified as Samir Singh Rajput (31), originally from Rajasthan and presently residing in Calangute, allegedly abused his friend Karan Magare using filthy language over a monetary dispute.
Police said the altercation escalated when the accused allegedly approached from behind and stabbed Magare in the back with a kitchen knife, causing serious bleeding injuries.
The injured was rushed for medical treatment, while the accused has been booked under relevant sections of law.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vishwajit Dhavlikar.
