PERNEM: Mandrem Police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly accepting illegal gambling bets from the general public at an open place in Mandrem.
According to police, the offence was registered on December 15, 2025, at around 9.14 pm on a state complaint filed by HC-4820 Satish Shetye of Mandrem Police Station.
The accused has been identified as Siddarth, son of Kashinath Kharbe, a resident of House No. 350, Askavada, Mandrem, Pernem.
Police said the accused was found accepting bets related to numerical digit gambling.
During the operation, cash amounting to Rs 1,200 and other gambling-related materials were seized from his personal possession. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
