Mandrem: A 46-year-old police constable died in a road accident near Maharingan Temple in Mandrem while heading to duty on Monday.
The constable was riding his two-wheeler to the Mandrem-Ashwem coastal area as part of the ongoing Sagarkavach campaign when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby bike repair garage, sustaining serious injuries.
He was rushed to Tuem hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Authorities have registered the incident and initiated further investigation.
