PANAJI: Emphasising the importance of early detection and lifestyle-based prevention, Manipal Hospital Goa observed World Health Day with an awareness initiative promoting routine health monitoring and regular medical check-ups.
The programme highlighted the role of timely diagnosis and preventive care in reducing the burden of diseases, while encouraging greater public awareness about maintaining long-term health.
Hospital Director Surendra Prasad said regular medical examinations play a crucial role in identifying health issues at an early stage and improving treatment outcomes. He stressed that preventive care remains essential for maintaining overall well-being.
The event was attended by members of the hospital’s medical team and administrative leadership, including senior consultant in surgical oncology Dr Shekhar Salkar, consultant general surgery Dr Mahesh Naik, lead consultant ENT Dr Deepak Murthy, consultant endocrinology and diabetology Dr Aditya Phadte and consultant obstetrics and gynecology Dr Kinjal Kothari.
Medical Superintendent Dr Sheren Bhat, Operations Manager Dr Pratima Bhadoria, Nursing Superintendent Sr Anita T, Marketing Manager Gauri Naik, Sales Manager Vishesh Rayu, HR Manager Delina Figueiredo, Engineering and Maintenance Manager Subhash Naik and Finance Manager Jince Jose were also present.
Officials said the initiative reinforced the importance of proactive healthcare, regular screenings and lifestyle awareness for overall well-being.
