MAPUSA: In a swift operation, the Mapusa Police have arrested 34-year-old for the alleged kidnapping and sexual molestation of a minor.
The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged by the victim’s father on the afternoon of January 8, 2026, detailing a harrowing ordeal that took place the previous night.
According to the police, the incident occurred between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM on January 7, 2026, while the 15-year-old victim was walking along a roadside in Mapusa. The accused, a resident of Bastora, was riding a scooter when he allegedly intercepted the boy.
Without the consent or knowledge of the parents, 34-yr-old is accused of kidnapping the teenager from his lawful guardianship.
The complaint further states that the accused, acting with full knowledge of the victim’s minor status, intentionally subjected the boy to sexual harassment. Accused reportedly abused the victim by touching and rubbing his body, including his private parts. The ordeal has left the local community in shock as authorities move forward with the legal proceedings.
The investigation is currently being handled by Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Aditya Gad. The accused has been taken into custody and faces serious charges under the relevant sections of the law, including kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor. Police are currently gathering further evidence to strengthen the case as it moves toward trial.
