PANAJI: A person from Madkai has besn arrested by Cybercrime Cell of Goa police for allegedly impersonation as CMO Goa staff on social media and demanding financial favours from gullible people.
The accused in identified as Saish Narvekar. He allegedly offered govt jobs to people claiming he was CMO staffer.
Police said the incident came to light when an employee at the CMO learned about the fake social media account in his name.
Based on the complaint of the CMO staffer, cyber crime police registered the case.
Police said that around 10 persons got in touch with Narvekar. However, to date, police have not received any complaints from social media users about making payments to Narvekar.
