The Crime branch team led by police inspector Dattaguru Sawant nabbed yet another accused Evander Rodrigues in the sensation Margao jeweler Swapnil Walke murder case.
This is the fourth person nabbed in the murder case. Three of whom have been rounded up Crime Branch and one surrendered to Margao police on Thursday.
However, the shocking part is the Margao police in the first three days have registered offence only against two persons – Omkar Patil and Mustafa Sheikh.
Sources said no offence has been registered against Edson Gonsalves, who was nabbed on intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
“Edsonw as the person who committed theft of Bolero and also purchased the pistol from Uttar Pradesh, both of which were used in the Crime,” sources revealed.
It is not very clear, who is protecting Edson Gonsalves.
“It has been 72 hours since the crime branch nabbed Edson but no offence is registered against him,” sources revealed.
The Goa DGP on Friday decided to hand over the case to Crime Branch.
