Panaji: Margao Sports Club booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 3rd Late Uday Shirodkar Memorial Intervillage Football Tournament with a confident 3-0 victory over Wilred Leisure of Curtorim. The match was held at the Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Complex in Karai, Shiroda, and was organised by the Shiroda Youth Club.
Despite being reduced to ten players, Wilred Leisure tried to stay competitive, but Margao controlled the tempo throughout the game. Their consistent pressure, sharper passing and superior finishing ensured they maintained the upper hand from start to finish.
Margao Sports Club capitalised on their chances effectively, converting opportunities with precision while keeping Wilred’s attempts at bay. The winning side displayed strong teamwork, disciplined defending and confident attacking play, allowing them to secure a comfortable margin by the final whistle.
