PANAJI: The Rotary Club of Panaji Mid-Town will host the Mathias Panaji Run 2026 on March 1 at the SAG Sports Complex in Campal, Panaji. The event will begin at 6.30 in the morning and is expected to draw large participation from across Goa.
The programme includes a 10 km timed run with winners in multiple categories and a 5 km fun run and walk open to people of all ages. A special 1 km walk has also been planned for students from NAB Goa and for persons with disabilities, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the event. Organisers have announced cash prizes totaling one lakh rupees to encourage wider involvement.
This year the run carries the theme Live Life in Colour, inspired by the approaching festival of Holi. The theme aims to spread a message of happiness, togetherness and healthy living. The event is designed not only as a sporting competition but also as a celebration where families and friends can participate and enjoy the atmosphere.
The organisers explained that the initiative is meant to strengthen community bonds and promote values of health and unity. Funds generated from the run will support Rotary projects in education, healthcare, disability support, sanitation and medical assistance. These programmes have been part of the club’s long term efforts to improve the quality of life of people in Goa.
Coordinators expect nearly two thousand participants in what is the second edition of the run. Holding the event in the heart of Panaji is intended to make it easily accessible to local residents and to encourage more Ponjékars to take part. Citizens have been urged to join the run not only for personal fitness but also to contribute to social causes that benefit the wider community.
The Rotary Club of Panaji Mid-Town has been active since 1998 and works through several flagship initiatives focused on literacy, health, sanitation and medical aid. Registrations for the Mathias Panaji Run 2026 are open on the official website www.panajirun.org, and organisers are confident that the event will once again turn into a vibrant community celebration dedicated to wellness and service.
