Vasco: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho announced some significant plans for the Bogmalo beach, including boating and kayaking at a lake in Bogmalo to promote hinterland tourism
Godinho was speaking to reporters after Inaugurating the newly constructed retaining wall along with beautification that included seating arrangements and benches along with aesthetic lighting along the beach in the presence of Bogmalo Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale and others
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, Godinho said that many of the people, including panch members were sceptical if the works would happen considering the permission from the CRZ authorities
” We have ensured that the works have been taken up, and I would like to thank the Panchayat members, Secretary Merida Mesta and My Dy Director Prasidh Naik, who made all the efforts to get the works sanctioned. We also plan to consider boating in this beautiful and peaceful village which will add to more tourist activity here. We have also got the support of opposition panch members for this job because it is for the benefit of the village,” said Godinho
” Bogmalo Panchayat has a very young and dynamic body which is raring to take a lot of developments in the village, and works are even happening at the Zilla Panchayat level. We will have a lot of beautification done here, and we will have a seating arrangement, benches and aesthetic lighting. We will also approach a nearby star hotel to help us beautify this area further. We will make Bogmalo even better, and while we promote tourism through the beach, we will also promote hinterland tourism and utilise a nearby lake for boating purposes for Kayaking. The lake had a great potential for promoting hinterland tourism through boating in the village which is a touristic place,” said Godinho
” As far as Chicalim is concerned, We are soon going to inaugurate the expansion of the jogger’s park, a new Sewage treatment plant, a Feacal waste treatment plant, and a new garbage treatment plant which will only add more facilities to the entire Dabolim constituency. ” Said Godinho
