Fatorda: Top seed Anaya Shukla and second seed Shaurya Dessai stormed into the U11 Girls singles final of the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, organised by Margao Cricket Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, at the multipurpose stadium, Fatorda.
Anaya, in fine touch, blanked Claire George 3-0 in the semifinals after easing past Radha Desai by the same scoreline in the quarters. Shaurya, relying on her steady backhand and sharp smashes, overcame Aarna Walawalkar 3-1 in the semis, having earlier swept aside Tasha Mascarenhas 3-0. Aarna produced one of the most thrilling contests of the day, edging Tvisha Kotkar 3-2 in the quarters, while Claire impressed with her counter-spins to defeat Sanaz Shaikh 3-1 before bowing out to the top seed.
In the U13 Boys quarterfinals, the top four seeds advanced with authority. No.1 seed Ruhaan Shaikh beat Kavish Dalvi 3-0, No.4 Yuvaan Sanke dispatched Kaushik Nair 3-0, No.3 Yug Prabhu outlasted Ishaan Colaso 3-1, and No.2 Vedant Wagle downed Noel Kurien 3-0.
The U17 Boys division saw the top seeds dominate the last-eight stage. No.1 Chandan Caro breezed past Ruhaan Shaikh (U13) 3-0, while No.2 Rishan Shaikh beat Adhiraj Badave 3-0. Third seed Dhruva Kamat overpowered Bhaavan Shrivastava 3-0, and Vedant Wagle produced a gritty performance to edge Yug Prabhu 3-2 in a five-set battle.
