Margao: MCC Masters and MCC Tigers registered wins in their respective matches of the ongoing MCL 11 T20 tournament at the MCC Ground, Margao. In the morning match, MCC Masters chased down the target of 135 set by MCC Stallions in just 12.1 overs to win by four wickets. Batting first, MCC Stallions posted 134 for 8, with Dr. Ankush Patil top-scoring with 34, while Rueben Karekar and Infancio Correia contributed 28 runs each. Angad Painginkar starred with the ball for MCC Masters, taking 2 wickets for 16 runs, supported by Mishra Anand (1/15) and Dr. Satyesh Kamat (1/10). In reply, Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar led the chase with 32 runs, complemented by Dr. Sunny (28) and Vishwesh Kamat (27). MCC Stallions’ Govind Gaonkar picked up 3 wickets for 45 runs, but Masters comfortably sealed the win, with Angad Painginkar earning the Man of the Match award.
In the afternoon encounter, MCC Tigers defeated MCC Royals by three wickets, successfully chasing 142 in 15.4 overs. MCC Royals had posted 141 for 9, with Vijay scoring 32 and Aditya Prabhugaonkar adding 20. Tigers’ bowlers bowled in disciplined partnerships, with Viraj Tar taking 3/20, Nikit Naik Dalal 2/25, and Mrunmay Das 2/18. During the chase, Nikit Naik Dalal’s crucial 40, supported by Chaitanya Kamat’s 37 and Rajaram Kundaikar’s 20, guided the Tigers to victory. MCC Royals’ bowlers each claimed a wicket, including Abhishek Goyal, Aditya Prabhugaonkar, Aditya Angle, and Shailesh Redkar. Nikit Naik Dalal was named Man of the Match for his performance.
The top four teams of the tournament will be decided after the matches scheduled for tomorrow.
