Panaji: Margao Cricket Club, Power Panthers Porvorim, Ghumteshwar and Dhadsakhal Stars emerged victorious on the third day of the Junior Cricket Championship organised by the Oxford Cricket Club, with several notable batting and bowling performances across venues.
At the SAG Ground in Chicalim, Margao Cricket Club secured a 21-run win over Panjim Challengers. Riding on Keyaan Thota’s unbeaten 81, Margao posted 166 for 4 in 25 overs. Panjim Challengers replied with a fighting effort led by Vansh Kudtarkar (56) and Pramay Prabhu (37), but were restricted to 145 for 4. Keyaan Thota was named Man of the Match.
In another match at the same venue, Power Panthers Porvorim defeated Oxford Cricket Club by six wickets. After bowling out Oxford for 112 in 23 overs, Porvorim chased down the target in 16.5 overs with contributions from Sumedh Parab (41) and Sahil Metri (34). Sumedh Parab was declared Man of the Match.
At Arlem Ground, Ghumteshwar cruised to a commanding 10-wicket win over AK Rangers. Chasing 132, Rehan Hubali (54 not out) and Sachin Bora (69 not out) put together an unbeaten opening stand to reach 134 without loss in 19.1 overs. Sachin Bora was named Man of the Match.
In a closely fought contest, Dhadsakhal Stars edged past Banjara Cricket Club by three wickets. Chasing 150, Dhadsakhal reached 151 for 7 in 20.4 overs, thanks to Adeep Prabhu Misquin’s match-winning 63. He was adjudged Man of the Match.
