Panaji: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, several mega medical camps for women were organised across Goa with a focus on strengthening preventive healthcare and encouraging women to prioritise their wellbeing.
The camps offered free health screenings, preventive check-ups and medical consultations, enabling women from different communities to access timely diagnosis and medical guidance. The initiative also included awareness sessions on lifestyle diseases and specialised screenings aimed at promoting early detection and better health management.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services for women and promoting preventive care.
“Jab Nari Swasth Rahegi, tab Parivar Sashakt Hoga aur Desh Mazboot Banega. A Swasth Nari is the foundation of a strong family and a stronger Goa,” Rane said, adding that such initiatives encourage women to come forward for regular health check-ups and take proactive charge of their health.
He further said that the programme aligns with the vision of empowering women and building a healthier society where accessible healthcare plays a crucial role.
