New Delhi: Indian all rounder Hardik Pandya marked a significant milestone in his career as he completed ten years in international cricket, calling the achievement “merely the beginning” of a longer journey he hopes to continue with passion and purpose. Reflecting on the moment, Pandya said he feels he is only just starting on the path he truly wishes to walk.
Hardik made his international debut on January 26, 2016, against Australia in an ODI in Adelaide, a moment that coincided with India’s Republic Day and remains deeply symbolic for him. Sharing his thoughts, he spoke about the privilege of not only playing the sport he loves but also representing the country through it. He described the journey as one filled with trials, sacrifices and faith, all of which shaped him as both a cricketer and an individual.
Looking back, Hardik recalled his early days in Baroda, where he ran extra miles just to get opportunities to play. He spoke of spending long hours in the nets, bowling to specialist bowlers who rarely got a chance to bat, and eventually transforming himself into an all rounder at a young age. From facing rejections to finally earning recognition, he said playing for India has been the most fulfilling chapter of his life.
Hardik credited his debut on January 26 as a turning point, saying the sport helped him grow into the man he is today and will continue to guide him through the years ahead. He expressed gratitude for the chances given to him and the lessons learned along the way.
Over the last decade, Hardik has been a key contributor to India’s success in white ball cricket. He played an important role in India’s triumphs at the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy, delivering decisive performances in high pressure situations. His standout showing came during the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he impressed with both bat and ball and sealed the final with a match winning spell.
Across formats, Hardik has built a strong record, combining aggressive batting with impactful bowling. As he enters the next phase of his career, the all rounder remains focused on growth, consistency and continuing to serve Indian cricket at the highest level.
