PANAJI: MGP Chief Sudin Dhavalikar today has demanded with the state government to stop online education across Goa until the network infrastructure is in place.
MGP will also submit a memorandum to the North Goa and South Goa Collectors over the poor network issues.
“I have written to both the collectors and CM Pramod Sawant to stop online education across Goa until the network infrastructure is in place; The students are facing networks issue,” said Dhavalikar addressing the media
He further said that he will be forced put in an calling attention in the upcoming assembly session if the issue is not resolved before July 27.
“Today I also demand the state government to give smartphones to all section of the society who cannot afford. Some parents have lost jobs and find it difficult to shell out money,” he added
Dhavalikar further has slammed the government for starting online education for students without proper infrastructure. He also threatened to hold a protest at Azad Maidan along with student if the government fails to begin online classes within 15days.
“The CM is aware that there is connectivity problem in rural areas and also knows that not all the villages have mobile towers. Despite knowing about the network problem, how some of the schools have started online classes,” the MLA questioned.
“When I asked the Education Director about the issue, he said that he will discuss with the CM and get back to me soon but so far I have not received any reply from him,” he stated.
