PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that the Karnataka government has not yet submitted any paperwork and that Goa has a strong case before the Supreme Court.
“In the Mhadei cases before the Supreme Court, Goa’s case is unquestionably strong. Karnataka has not yet turned in any more paperwork,” Sawant said.
He further said that the entire legal team, including Advocate General Devidas Pangam, is prepared to vigorously argue Goa’s case before the Apex Court.
Sawant asserted that the Advocate General(AG) and the complete panel of advocates have been taking a serious review of the Mhadei matter for the past several days.
He exuded confidence that the way the cases have been filed, Goa will win the case in its favour. “We are very much serious and very much strong,” he added.
The matters related to the challenge of the Mhadei Water Tribunal award were not taken up by the Supreme Court of India as widely expected but may come up on Thursday, sources said.
The Special Leave Petitions filed by Goa and the other two party states of Karnataka and Goa are now expected to be taken up by the Apex Court on Thursday.
