FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai today said that Mhadei Water Authority (PRAWAH) has been constituted to distract Goa from its demand to revoke the DPR.
“The real purpose of constituting PRAWAH (Mhadei Water Authority) is to distract us from our demand to revoke the DPR and expedite Karnataka’s Mhadei projects,” said Vijai.
He further said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s in-born talent to celebrate his utter failures as victories and show falsehood as truth will not fool Goans.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is complicit in both. No Mhadei Water Authority will distract us from our non-negotiable demand,” he added.
Sardesai said that Government should withdraw permission given to the Detailed Project Report of Karnataka.
“All else you do is a smokescreen designed to buy time and delay justice to Goa,” Sardesai said.
Since Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that the Centre has cleared the much-disputed Kalasa-Banduri dam project in his state, people have started holding public meetings against the Central Government’s decision.
Goa and Karnataka are currently battling a dispute over the Kalasa-Banduri dam project across the water of the Mhadei river at a central tribunal.
