PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that several beneficiaries have already received orders under the Mhaje Ghar housing scheme and assured that people need not worry about cases filed in connection with the scheme. He stated that the government would look into such cases and ensure that houses are registered in the names of eligible beneficiaries.
Addressing a function, the Chief Minister said the Mhaje Ghar scheme is being implemented to provide housing security to deserving families and that the government remains committed to resolving any issues faced by beneficiaries.
Dr Sawant also highlighted the Griha Adhar scheme, originally introduced during the tenure of former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, stating that the initiative has inspired several governments across the country. At present, around 1.80 lakh women in Goa are benefiting from the scheme.
Under the Griha Adhar scheme, beneficiaries receive financial assistance of ₹18,000 per year, amounting to ₹1,500 per month, which helps support household expenses. The Chief Minister said the amount is credited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts on the 10th of every month.
