CALANGUTE: In what could spark major political debate, BJP Calangute MLA Michael Lobo today hinted at his possible political shift to Mandrem for the 2027 polls. The seat is currently held by BJP’s alliance partner MGP.
“It’s too early to comment on elections, 2 years left, MLAs should do their works, many works pending in my constituency,” said Lobo
He further said that people of Mandrem will decide who will be their next MLA.
“If people from my constituency say they don’t want me, I will have to contest from Mandrem,” he added
Lobo, the Calangute MLA, has been making waves in Goa’s political circle after being spotted enjoying tea and biscuits in Mandrem constituency.
This had fueled rumors that the Lobo family might contest the 2027 elections from Mandrem.
“If Mandrem needs good development, than I will be there. My support will be there especially for the poor people from Mandrem,” he added
Lobo said that there is still a lot of time for 2027 elections, will think about it later (when asked if he will be contesting from Mandrem).
“It is my word to the people from constituency that if they have any work, if they need any help, I will get it done, I am there to help” he said
