DABOLIM/MOPA: In light operations between Goa and several Middle East destinations were disrupted on Wednesday following the ongoing crisis in the region, leading to multiple cancellations at Goa International Airport.
According to a passenger advisory issued by the airport authorities, flights operating on March 4 were cancelled due to the prevailing situation in parts of the Middle East.
Among the affected services was Qatar Airways flight QR 522 operating from Doha to Goa, which was scheduled to depart at 8.30 pm and arrive in the early hours of Thursday. The flight was marked cancelled.
In addition, Air India Express flights IX240 (Dubai–Goa) scheduled at 7.10 am and IX239 (Goa–Dubai) scheduled at 11.10 pm were cancelled.
Gulf Air service GF0286/GF0287 operating on the Bahrain–Goa–Bahrain sector between 9.55 pm and 10.55 pm was also called off.
Airport authorities have advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules and rebooking options before proceeding to the airport.
The cancellations come amid heightened tensions and operational uncertainties in parts of the Middle East, impacting international air connectivity to Goa.
