CANACONA – Now a new time-frame for inauguration of the yet-to-be-completed Ravindra Bhavan in Canacona is set-up as Minister of Arts & Culture Govind Gaude after inspecting the ongoing works announced the State-of-the-art Cultural hub (Ravindra Bhavan) for Canacona will be dedicated to the public before the end of this month (August).
Gaude alongwith Arts & Culture Director Sagun Velip and his team, besides the Officials from GSIDC, Consultants representatives and Contractor engineers carried out an in-bound inspection of the on-going works at the mega project of Ravindra Bhavan, emphasised suggestions and issued directions on the various works underway and on the verge of completion.
Incidentally, GSIDC officials informed that the load of Chairs to be set-up in the main auditorium will be received in next 8-10 days, while the minister pointed out the need to shift the first-row to make sufficient space, while found faults at the dug-out as too deep meant for the use of Musicians(Band), Light-Effects Technical Assistants between the audience and stage.
Sound instllation and Testing , Installation of Chairs, completion of AC Plant, are pending besides a number of discrepancies and highlighted by the media present, including the tapping of leakages, requirement of moulding of the granite placed over the staircase railings, while the minister himself suggested artworks/drawings on the walls at the main entrance of the project and recommended beautification of the open space outside the main-gate compound with proper retaining wall and pavers.
Minister Gaude directed the Art & Culture Director Sagun Velip to ensure deployment/Posting of staff including security and administrative staff well in advance, preferably a week before the inauguration, suggestions and guidance was given on the concept of a modern library making provisions of compartments to certain level of students studying, etc, make classrooms in the complex more students-friendly,
Another final inspection with the local talents in the field will be carried out to check whether any modification is needed or any other changes are required or even small things within the scope or outside the scope of works will be accepted so that the best amongst the best facilities will be provided at Canacona’s Ravindra Bhavan, informed Gaude further stating that any issues that comes up even later will be tackled based on experiments.
In all possibilities, as most of the works are in final stages, government is going to dedicate Canacona Ravindra Bhavan to the Artists and Art-loving people before the end of August month.
On the sidelines of his inspection visit, Minister for Arts and Culture Govind Gaude also planted decorative plants in the backyard of the Ravindra Bhavan complex celebrating Van-Mahotsava.
