PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has introduced a proposal to create think tanks aimed at improving the lives of various marginalized communities in Goa. These groups include Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and minorities such as Muslims and Christians. The minister emphasized that these think tanks would play a pivotal role in developing tailored strategies that ensure greater opportunities for these communities.
Rane announced that the first think tank would be set up in his Valpoi constituency, focusing initially on the ST community. The think tank will include community leaders, thinkers, opinion makers, and other stakeholders. Following the establishment for the ST community, Rane plans to create similar think tanks for the SC, OBC, and minority groups like Muslims and Christians.
The primary aim of this initiative is to address local concerns by setting up these think tanks in individual villages, allowing them to focus on area-specific challenges. Ultimately, the goal is to align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for grassroots development in Goa’s rural areas.
Rane also mentioned that central government schemes would be leveraged to help uplift these communities, ensuring comprehensive development across the state.
