MORMUGAO: In a sad incident, a minor boy was reportedly kidnapped by an unknown person from Jetty, Mormugao, on September 8 afternoon, sending shockwaves through the locality.
According to sources, the boy’s father approached Mormugao police with a complaint that his son had been taken away without the consent of family members and kept hidden from his lawful guardianship. The family raised an alarm when the child failed to return home, prompting immediate police action.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, Mormugao police registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
The investigation is being led by PSI Yeshwant Raikar of Mormugao police station, under the supervision of PI Sheriff Jacques and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
