SANCOALE: A minor girl went missing from her residence at Zuarinagar, Sancoale, on Tuesday afternoon, prompting police to register a kidnapping case after her mother expressed suspicion of foul play.
According to the complaint lodged by a lady complainant , a resident of Zuarinagar and native of Karnataka, her minor daughter left the house without informing anyone and did not return thereafter. The complainant stated that despite efforts to trace her, the girl remained untraceable, leading her to suspect that unknown person(s) may have kidnapped her from lawful guardianship.
Based on the complaint, Verna police registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act. Police have initiated a search to trace the missing minor and are examining all possible angles, including suspected abduction.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rajdatt Arsekar of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
