QUEPEM: Police have registered two separate cases involving a minor girl’s kidnapping in Quepem and an assault incident at Colva.
In the first case, a resident of Xeldem, Quepem, originally from Uttar Pradesh, lodged a complaint stating that on February 2, 2025, at around 4:30 pm, an unknown accused allegedly kidnapped his minor daughter from his legal guardianship.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Digamber Bondre of Quepem Police Station.
In another incident, Francisco Xavier Gomes, a resident of Vanelim, Colva, reported that on April 5, 2026, at about 3:00 am at Viva Goa Restaurant, Colva, four persons allegedly abused and assaulted him.
The accused have been identified as Amit Langote of Assolda, Quepem; Damodar Sathe of Fatorda, Margao; Tukaram Langote of Assolda, Quepem; and Bhimaji Hiranwale of Guirdolim, Curtorim.
Police said the accused, acting with common intention, allegedly abused the complainant with filthy language and assaulted him with fist blows, causing bleeding injuries.
