FATORDA: Fatorda Police have registered a case of child trafficking and illegal employment of a minor girl, following a state complaint lodged by PSI Sachin Patil.
Police said that between August 28 and September 1, 2025, accused Pradeep Ekka, a resident of Baga, Velim, originally from Gumla, Jharkhand, allegedly brought a minor girl from Maharashtra and kept her in his custody despite having no familial relation with her.
He is further accused of placing the victim as a domestic help at the residence of Andread Gonsalves, of Marlem, Borda, Margao, who also is not related to the girl.
The girl was allegedly kept as a housemaid at Gonsalves’ residence in Borda.
Police have registered an offence, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sahil Pagui of Cuncolim Police Station.
