CALANGUTE: Mismatch of symbols allocated to 2 candidates on the ballot paper at Khobra Wado in ward no 9 of Calangute panchayat led to the suspension of the election process.
As per information, the elections are likely to be held tomorrow for the ward.
The error in the ballot paper only came to light after nearly 15- 16 voters exercised their franchise.
“The symbols displayed on the sample ballot paper displayed outside the voting centre were correct; however the symbols and candidate names mismatched on the ballot paper,” said ward no nine candidate
The candidates said that tomorrow being a working day, voters may not come out in large numbers to vote as they would have done today.
