The ruling BJP party boasts of the development. But the question arises whether development means only big-ticket projects? Why not develop the homeless? Why not support the poor and give a helping hand for their development?
The State government is spending thousands of crores on several projects, but why not spend only a couple of lakhs on repairing the houses?
Yes, the chief minister assured the people their houses would be built, but the question arises when? Just ahead of elections so that they vote for the party? Or are these people not BJP voters? Hence they are being ignored.

With Chief Minister Dr PRamod Sawant not keeping his promise of compensating the flood victims and building the houses of those damaged, it speaks volumes of this government’s priorities.
The Chief Minister and his cabinet are too busy with the forthcoming elections, and as such that have been hundreds of promises every day, but none seem to be implemented.
With several families without a shelter amid heavy rainfall, the government has neither made any make-shift arrangements nor has started repairs of their houses.
As a result, many families were forced to celebrate the Ganesh festival in broken houses.

Yes, the chief minister assured the people their houses would be built, but the question arises when? Just ahead of elections so that they vote for the party? Or are these people not BJP voters? Hence they are being ignored.
It should have been a priority of any government to help the families whose houses have been completely demolished. They should have been moved to make-shift shelters, and work on house construction should have been started on a priority basis or at least helped them build their own house financially.
Why is the Sawant government ignoring these people like an unwanted children?
The amount these governments spent on the padayatra, Jan sampark yatras, and the felicitation would have been enough to build at least 10 houses till now.
But for Sawant and the BJP, the priority is to do something else. The priority is to win elections by conducting rallies.
However, Sawant seems to be missing the trick here. Building the houses of the displaced would have given him more mileage than the rallies he has conducted so far.
It would have increased the government’s and the party’s popularity for such humanitarian efforts. But who would tell Sawant this? Who seems to be living in the fool’s paradise.
At the fag end of its term, any government would jump to take up such works so that their popularity and image of party increases, but Sawant seems to have some other thoughts. He may feel that yatras and inaugurating projects will help him gain popularity, but that is not the case.
Sawant must realise his party’s success lies in the good works it does in the next few months. The party has already fighting anti-incumbency and
Sawant as well as the BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanawade need to apply their mind if they want to win elections in 2022.
