PONDA: Swift police coordination between Goa and Karnataka authorities helped trace and rescue a minor girl from Ponda who had been reported kidnapped earlier this week.
Police said the girl’s father, a resident of Ponda and originally from Karnataka, lodged a complaint stating that his minor daughter was kidnapped from Curti, Ponda, around 1 pm on November 4 by unknown person(s).
During the investigation, Ponda Police received information from reliable sources that the girl had been found alone at the Hosahalli bus stand in Karnataka. The staff of Hosahalli Police rescued her and took her to the local police station. She was later shifted to the Child Protection Home at Bellary Hospet.
Acting promptly, under the guidance of SP South, SDPO Ponda, and PI Ponda, a police team led by PSI Sushant Gaonkar along with PC Prasanna and LPC 9055 travelled to Bellary Hospet and successfully brought the girl back to Goa.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sushant Gaonkar of Ponda Police Station.
