QUEPEM: In a tragic development, the body of a 16-year-old boy who had been reported missing was found in a decomposed state in the Kushavati river on Thursday evening.
According to police, information was received from PCR Margao on March 19, 2026, at around 7:21 pm about an unidentified body floating beneath the Assolda bridge. A police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the body from the river, and conducted preliminary enquiries.
The deceased was later identified as Roydon Giggs Noronha (16), a resident of Avedem, Quepem, who had been missing from his residence.
Police have registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act at Quepem Police Station.
A scene of offence panchanama was conducted, and the body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Gaurav Naik of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
